On the 14th of September we boarded the bus at 7:45 to go to knock. We arrived up around eleven o clock and we were brought to a centre where there was groups from different schools from around the country. We were listening to different speakers about important topics - focusing on homelessness the most . Lots of different speakers told us about their experience with the homeless. One speaker in particular called peter mcverry told us to treat the homeless like you would treat anyone else. When each speaker was finished talking we would turn into our groups that we were put in and reflect and ask questions about what the speaker had said. The one speaker that stood out to me the most was Joanne o'reirdans. She was a girl that was born without any limbs. She spoke about how she deals with life and her obstacles she had to overcome without limbs. Her story went viral all over the world and she even made a film called " no limbs no limits" that tells her inspirational story. I found her very inspiring as she made her story so positive and greatful for where she is today. She even told her speech in a houmourous way , cracking jokes throughtout the speech. For this trip to Knock we we're told to bring something to share with everyone to eat.
Overall i I found the day very enjoyable and the stories very inspiring.
