On the 23rd of April 2018 at approximately 12:45 myself and the rest of the transition year students departed for Dublin airport ,ready for the long journey that awaited. we got to Dublin airport at 3:35 and checked in. this part was quite nerve wrecking and stressful as many of us have not flew on a plane before. After a few passports were lost and some boarding passes misplaced but found again, we made our way to the plane.
at 10:00 am we arrived into sunny Barcelona. the first thing we headed for was for the scientific museum. quite a lot of people found this very interesting.my favorite part was the massive ice block i engraved my name on!
After having some lunch we hopped back on the bus and were ready for the walking tour of Barcelona. i personally found this quite interesting and amazing as the architechture around the city is beautiful! the buildings are massaive and have lovely designs - escpecially the cathedral.
after this we went to the cable cars. i have been on the cable cars in spain many times before so i was used to it, but many people were extremley nervous and scared of the height we were going up. after the cable cars we went and checked into our hotel , salut park. then after our dinner we went bowling. i never went bowling before so this was a new experience!
The next day we were up early and got the bus to the gaudi meuseum at 9:30 am. we were given phones on which we could listen to people talk about the history of gaudi and his amazing work. this was very interesting. after this, we headed to portaventura , a theme park in salut. it took an hour to get there but it was worth it! the rides were good but really daunting and scary. we spent most of the day here. Then we headed back to our hotel.
day three we were up and ready on the bus again for 9:30 am. we headed for camp nu , a football stadium in Barcelona. i like football so this was a really cool experience for me. after this we went to a shopping centre before we got to the airport.
over all i really enjoyed this trip and would highly recommend going to Barcelona for anyone thinking of it!
