WEDNESDAY:
On the 20th of September we departed from our school at approximately 9:45. we were all excited as we loaded up our suitcases onto the bus for the next three days. A tired but buzzing transition year group stumbled out of the bus. when we arrived the instructors brought us into the ' den'. it was a sort of lounging room where we ate our lunch. they told us our room numbers and we dragged our luggage up the stairs. me and Courtney shared the room. at two o clock we were divided into four groups - two groups were doing the high ropes and the other doing surfing. I was put doing the high ropes. we were brought into the activity centre and we were given harnesses to put on helmets. we made nervously made our way up to the high ropes. each part of the high ropes was extremely high. There were three activities: trustfall was where people made their way up a small poll and you had to trust each other to keep themselves up. the second one was balance. this one you did on your own you had to hold onto ropes to get from pole to pole. the last one was leap of faith. this was where you had to jump from an extremely high poll and you had to hit two balloons. these activities took five to ten minutes each. the whole idea of the high ropes was to conquer your fear of heights. we stayed here for about two hours. we went back then to the grub hub and had our dinner which was chicken curry. after dinner we were divided back into our groups for evening activities. we walked up to the tunnels where we had to make our way through pitch black tunnels with pipes and obstacles . although i enjoyed this very much i felt very claustrophobic. we had to do this blindfolded too. we made our way up a mountain nearby for a short walk and then headed back to the grub hub for our supper at quarter past nine. it consisted of a chocolate cookie and milk. after this we had our own free time , as we did not have to be in our rooms until half ten. we headed to our rooms at twenty five past ten.
THURSDAY:
at 7:45 the next morning we were woken up by the night guard for breakfast. after breakfast we went back up to our rooms to get ready for our gaisce walk. we met in the activity Centre and we got a bus to the route we were going walking. the trip was about thirty minutes. hiking boots and thick socks were essential for this activity as the walk was very long. the dinner lady left out packed lunches for us before we left
